Like many photographers today, I have migrated from a (D)SLR environment (in my case: 40 years of Nikon) towards a mirrorless system (in my case: Fujifilm X-series). As at first the lens choices for the new system were limited, I started to explore the wonderful world of adapting lenses.
My findings with lens adapters was documented in a series of blog posts during 2013, with another update mid 2015. Below are the links to the individual articles:
- Introduction to lens adapters
- Metabones Nikon F to Fuji X adapters
- The Metabones Speed Booster
- The Metabones approach to aperture control
- Speed Booster image sharpness evaluation
- More Speed Booster sharpness tests

- Metabones Nikon F to Fuji X adapters – Conclusions
It is my intent to review, update and re-publish these discussions here on this site, at some point in the future. Additionally, I plan to add new sections on
- Shift, tilt and tilt/shift adapters
- Adapters with helicoidal extension
- Adapting M42 lenses
